I am writing to see if you would be interested in having an attorney from Georgia Legal Services Program make a presentation to your group about the Elderly Legal Assistance Program (ELAP). The ELAP is a free service to seniors and we are conducting an outreach initiative to get the word out about this service.

Our presentation would consist of a discussion about common legal issues faced by the elderly, services provided through the ELAP and how to make a referral for legal assistance on behalf of clients.

If you are not familiar with Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP), we are a 41-year old 501(c) (3) private nonprofit organization with a mission to provide access to justice and opportunities out of poverty for Georgians with low incomes. GLSP is not a political or federal organization. GLSP has 11 field offices throughout Georgia, serving 154 of Georgia’s 159 counties. The Dalton Regional Office of GLSP serves all residents in Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Murray, Walker and Whitfield counties. Additionally, the Dalton office provides services to residents 60 and over in Bartow, Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon and Pickens counties. Services provided to those 60 and over are done so through the ELAP, a grant awarded to GLSP by the Area Agency on Aging.

If you would be interested in having an attorney come speak to your group about our services, please contact me at 706-272-2258 ext. 2923 or via email.

    Thanks, have a great day.
